Here are the rules for upcoming 2024 season.

TEAM RULES

  1. Teams must have at least 9 players to start the game 

  2. Teams must have a logo to participate in the league 

  3. Teams must have their player passes to play 

  4. Teams must have their balance paid off ( based on the deadlines given by the  league )

Pre-Game Responsabilities

  1. Teams are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their game’s scheduled start time. Team check is 10 minutes before the game.

  2. grace period: OEL supervisors will make the call regarding each game

  3. Home teams starts with first possession.

  4. Captains must check and make sure their team is checked in with the Referee or staff member on duty prior to starting the game.  ( If player pass is not presence, player will not be able to play. (player can provide an ID to play the game only in the first game of the season)

  5. Any team playing a player who is NOT registered forfeits the game automatically and will pay a $150 fee prior to the start of the following game. If team is caught cheating twice, team will be removed from the league.

6) Team Captain/Coach is responsible for filling out a game/ref report at the end of each game. OEL supervisor will be collecting the reports after each game.

Team's late penalties : ( referee decides when time starts running)

  • 2-5 minutes late: $50 fine 

  • 10 minutes late: $100 fine

  • 15 minutes late: forfeit is declared. $150 fine 

If a team forfeits the date of the game a $150 fine will be imposed to go towards the opposite team's balance plus $50 to cover referee cost.

Bench Rules

  1. ONLY players and 3 coaches are allowed on the bench side; game will not start until coach has non players off the bench (time will be running). If a team has more than 3 coaches in the bench a $50 fee will be given

  2. Do not take a bench if the previous game has not finished, wait for the other group to clear their bench

  3. Please clear the bench as soon as your game is finished, group talks have to be done on the side

  4. We do not want Items or valuable things to be stolen, lets respect each other’s belongings (this is the main reason for this indoor bench style)

  5. Please be respectful and pick up your teams trash

Equipment

  1. Matching colored jerseys and shorts are required to play the game. (Exception is only for the goalkeeper) 

  2. Players must remove watches, rings, chains, and all other jewelry that may cause injury. (Referees can punish players with a yellow card if they are found with any of the items mentioned)

  3. Metal cleats are strictly prohibited.

Game Rules

  1. WE FOLLOW FIFA RULES

  2. A game consists of 45 minute halves - 15 min break

  3. Subs ARE NOT on the fly. 

  4. Regular season games can end in a tie. Playoffs will follow the tie-breaker

    1. Tie breaker : 5 Penaly Kicks - if still tied game will go sudden death PKs​

  5. Teams who forfeit games without notice will be fine $100 the first time. $250 the 2nd time and kick out after that. If a team is short and cannot fill a team, as long as they communicate with the league , a fee may apply but it will not disqualify them.

  6. ALCOHOL IS PROHIBITED

  7. GUNS ARE PROHIBITED

  8. DRUGS ARE PROHIBITED

  9. NO PROFANITY OR DISRESPECTUL BEHAVIOR

 

VIOLATION OF THESE RULES WILL RESULTS IN EJECTION FROM THE LEAGUE AND POSSIBLY BEING PERMANENTLY BANNED

 

Referee: The referee is responsible for control of the game and his/her decisions are final. 

LPBD TIE-BREAKER FORMAT:

  1. Playoff ties do not have golden goal. We will have a Round of 5pks, and then sudden death Panelty kicks.

OFFSIDES:

  1. There is no offsides

OUT OF BOUNDS:

  1. To be out of bounds the ball must completely cross the plane of the outside of the wall at the referee discretion

HANDBALLS & PROTECTIVE REACTIONS:

  1. Only intentional handballs that result from a deliberate extension of the arm in

an attempt to play the ball will be called direct kicks. Many inadvertent incidents

of contact between the ball and arm/hand area will go uncalled. Balls that ‘hit

hands’ will not be called. Only handballs that are ‘away’ from the body.

  1. Players may protect vital body parts from the ball with their hands as long as

such movements are reactive in nature and close to the body.

YELLOW CARDS (Caution or Warning Preceding Ejection):

  1. Automatically given for single acts of violent play, especially if it might lead to

Retaliation or escalation of violent play.

  1. Yellow cards can be given for a single flagrant rule violation (i.e. flagrant

handball)

  1. They can also be given for excessive taunting or bating of an opponent.

  2. Repeated failure to comply with an official’s instructions will most certainly

draw a yellow card.

  1. 5 Yellow Cards will have one game suspension and a fee of $40

 

RED CARDS (Ejection w/o Replacement):

  1. Two yellow card offenses automatically result in a red card ejection.

  2. A player can be given a red card immediately for fighting, excessive violence,

or abusive language towards an opponent or official. (it can also result in suspension from the league)

  1. A red card is automatically given to a non-goalie who blocks a shot on goal

with his/her hand(s).

  1. Team will play with a player less for the remaining of game for each red card. If the player receiving a RED Card is not on the field at the time, the team does not have to play a player less, but player must leave the bench.

  2. Red Card has a fee of $30

 

SUBSTITUTIONS:

Substitution are unlimited, but must wait for referee approval, the game time will not stop for a substitution.
